National Park Foundation #ThanksObama for @EveryKidInAPark & Supports White House Initiative With More Than $3 Million in Grant

WASHINGTON – Will Shafroth, president of the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks and nonprofit partner to the National Park Service, issued the following statement regarding the White House’s announcement today about the Every Kid in a Park Campaign:

“Aligning perfectly with our efforts to engage the next generation of park visitors, supporters, and stewards, the National Park Foundation is proud to join in saying #ThanksObama for his commitment to connecting kids with America’s public lands and waters, inspiring their natural curiosity and love of these special places. Thanks to generous support from our like-minded partners, we have been able to give millions of dollars in grants to strengthen the Every Kid in a Park initiative through our Open OutDoors for Kids program. We pledge to continue our efforts to expand access to national parks, making it possible for one quarter of the nation’s urban Title One school students to visit a national park in their community. Working together, we can help everyone Find Your Park/Encuentra Tu Parque.”
