adidas Originals and the National Park Foundation Celebrate Nature with the ZX 5000 National Park Foundation Sneaker
HERZOGENAURACH—The latest installment of the landmark A-ZX series sees adidas Originals and the National Park Foundation come together to craft a striking take on the ZX 5000 silhouette. A firm nod to the importance of preserving parks for all and the benefits of exploring nature, the collaboration brings the unique beauty of America’s national parks to life through the lens of adidas’ sportswear heritage. Continuing the A-ZX series by representing the letter ‘N’, this special makeup of the ZX 5000 shoe takes inspiration from Joshua Tree National Park, an iconic site in the National Park System.
Celebrating Joshua Tree’s striking landscape, rich hues, and iconic monzogranite boulders, the ZX 5000 National Park Foundation sneaker is made-up in a tonal pink and purple colourway with subtle orange hits. Designed with the unique national park environment in mind, the sneaker features reflective laces and a CORDURA® nylon upper with nubuck overlays. The nature-inspired sneaker is then capped off with Joshua Tree graphics on the tongue and sockliner.
Where can you get it? The adidas Originals ZX 5000 National Park Foundation sneaker launches globally on August 21st, and is available at adidas.com/A-ZX.
ABOUT A-ZX
In 1984 adidas changed the world of footwear forever. Launching its first ever running franchise, the ZX series, the brand showed that performance sneakers could elevate runners of all types and abilities. Revered by running purists and sneaker enthusiasts alike, ZX quickly became a modern icon. Over a decade after ZX’s inaugural release, adidas Originals returned with a celebration dubbed ‘A-ZX’. The unique programme saw some of the brand’s most esteemed global partners each collaborate on 26 distinct ZX drops over the course of 2008 and 2009. In 2020, adidas Originals is bringing back A-ZX with a bang, propelling the iconic franchise firmly into the future.
