Delaware National Scenic River

The Delaware River is one of the last large free-flowing rivers left in the contiguous 48 states — one of the last major rivers without any dams or control structures on its main stem.

This river runs past forests, farmlands, and villages, and it also links some of the most densely populated regions in America and it is considered to be a river of exceptional water quality.

The river cuts through the mountain ridge to form the famed "Water Gap.” This area is part of Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, which spans across parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
