Bruce Reed served as President Biden’s Deputy White House Chief of Staff for Policy. He was a senior adviser in the Obama and Clinton White Houses as well – as Chief of Staff to Vice President Biden and Domestic Policy Advisor to President Clinton. He has also served as the first president of the Broad Foundation; executive director of the Bowles-Simpson commission on fiscal responsibility; and CEO of Civic, a bipartisan ideas firm. He began his career as chief speechwriter for then-Senator Al Gore, policy director for then-Governor Bill Clinton, and deputy campaign manager for policy of the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign. He is a graduate of Princeton and Oxford, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. Reed is a native of North Idaho, the son of a former Idaho Senate Minority Leader, and a member of the Idaho Hall of Fame.
