Brien M. O'Brien

Brien O’Brien is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Port Capital, a global equity management firm based in Chicago.

Brien is active on multiple educational, public health, and conservation boards. At the University of Chicago Medical Center, one of the nation’s leading healthcare providers and academic research institutions, Brien dedicated five years as Chair of the Board and continues to serve as a Trustee. He also serves as a Trustee at the University of Chicago.

Brien serves on the University of Chicago’s Marine Biological Laboratory board, an international center for research and education in biological and environmental science founded in Woods Hole, MA. He is also a Trustee at Boston College and a member of the Investment and Endowment Committee. Brien served as President for three years, and as Trustee for the last ten years, of the Sheriffs Meadow Foundation, an accredited land trust based in Martha’s Vineyard dedicated to the care, conservation, and preservation of the natural and cultural resources of the island.

Brien graduated with honors from Boston College with a B.S. in Finance and Theology.
