WHO WE HELP

Transportation Interpreter Program

The Transportation Interpreter Program was developed to support and enhance alternative transportation systems in national parks. The mission of the program is to help reduce vehicle congestion and related impacts such as noise and air pollution, and it is designed to raise visitor awareness of the benefits of alternative transportation systems. Transportation Interpreters, many of whom are college interns, encourage their use by enhancing the visitor experience associated with park buses, trains, ferries, etc. through interpretation.

The Transportation Interpreter Program is a partnership between the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service.
