History comes to life at President Abraham Lincoln's boyhood home. Visit the sites that shaped Lincoln's childhood.

Situated in rural central Kentucky, the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is the first memorial to honor our 16th president.

Explore the early life of President Abraham Lincoln. With hiking trails, picnic areas, and Lincoln's boyhood cabin, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

As the first memorial built to honor the16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park preserves two farm areas where Abraham Lincoln lived as a child in Kentucky: the birthplace and the boyhood home sites. At the birthplace site, visitors can view an early 19th century Kentucky cabin, which symbolizes the one in which Lincoln was born. The cabin is enshrined inside the memorial building at the site of his birth.

At the boyhood home, visitors can tour Knob Creek Farm, where Lincoln lived with his family from the ages of 2-8. This site includes a historic tavern and log cabin. Both sites include hiking trails and picnic areas.
